An Evening With John Legend

Last night Durban spent an evening with John Legend.

I wasn't really a fan of the artist but after watching him perform live I have developed a lot of respect for him and his talent.

The venue was the beautiful Moses Mabhida Stadium and she was just showing off closing her top to protect the concert goers from a little rain that always prevalent at Durban events.

Lira opened for him and her performance was a spectacular starter for what was to come for the rest of the night.

Legend came on just after 21:00 and it was well worth the wait! He was accompanied by a string quartet, a guitarist, drummer, bassist and he wowed the crowd with his perfect piano playing.

He was very interactive with his audience, delving into his past and his humble beginnings from just playing piano to backup singing for Alicia Keys.

He dedicated a song to his grandmother, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, and you could see that music was in every part of his being.

His flawless performance lasted till 23:00 and his encore was the much anticipated All Of Me with the entire stadium joining in.

I don't think anyone left disappointed and if you did then you don't know what music is or you're deaf.
